I have registered and paid, how do I get my band?

Great! Your band will be processed at your nominated venue and will be available for collection on your first visit.

I have lost/broken my NOWCA band? or how do I get a new band?

Pop down to your NOWCA venue and they can replace or provide you with a new band for a nominal cost.

Can my children get in the water with me?

Please contact your local venue to find out about their particular child in open water policy. It’s different for every venue!

Is the subscription annual or seasonal?

The subscription is annual.

How do I opt out of automatic renewal?

You simply go to your PayPal account and within the subscriptions section, cancel the renewal.
This will switch your membership to annual renewal and your current year will not be affected.

How much is the NOWCA safety wristband?

The wristband is £12 to purchase annually.

Why do I have to have a NOWCA safety band?

Good question! Nothing can be more natural than enjoying the open water but time and time again we have seen that it can also be dangerous; we know that people get in without taking sensible precautions, some people even get in alone but we hope you agree that your safety is actually really important. Your wristband is a small part of a bigger safety system which helps to keep you and everyone else safe in the water. The operators follow a proven and robust safety system based around having a raised awareness of YOU in the open water. The added benefits of recording your open water session, whether for leisure or racing, cashless transactions amongst other things are our added benefits intended to make your open water experience as fun and easy as possible!

I am not getting my emails, what can I do?

My personal/home/medical details have changed, what should I do?

Log in to your personal profile and update as necessary. It’s very important that your medical details are up to date at all times. Click here for the log-in page.

There are no NOWCA venues near me, what should I do?

Contact us. Let us know where you are and where you would like to swim and we'll see what we can do for you.

My session time/distance/other metric was incorrectly recorded.

Where can I use my NOWCA band?

Your band can be used at any NOWCA venue nationwide - click here to find a venue.

 

Do I need a band for each venue?

Nope, you only need one band, your band.

 

I have left my band at home can I still join in tonight?

Yes, it is possible to use a temporary band, just advise your venue manager on arrival and they can add it to your account for the session.

There may be a small admin fee levied by your venue.

What are the opening times?

Please contact your local venue or see their website for details.

I've never been in open water before, what should I do?

As a guideline, we suggest that first you can swim over 400m in a swimming pool before you try activities in the open water. Please contact your local venue who will happily help you get the most out of your first encounter with the open water!

I'm a coach, can you add me to your listings?

Yes we'd love to. Please go onto your profile and tick the ‘become a coach’ button on the bottom right of your profile page.
Update your information and the more, the better, so customers can find you. If you tick the ‘publish’ box your details will be available for participants and venues to find you.

Have a good read of the safety standards that are synonymous with the open water. If necessary, make any changes to keep your participants safe. Play around with it, you'll be amazed at what it can do for your venue or club. Go ahead and use it!

Yes, happily. It’s an entire safety system for any open water venue, plus it’s a free chipped timing system for races and events – happy fundraising! No more sharing the profits.

It’s an app that you can download to any android device and use straightaway. We will send you scanners and bands to get you up and running. We have a full support team back at HQ to help you with any questions you may have. Everything we give to you is for free.

Your participants buy their wristband online, you also receive commission from those sales to help you run your club. Plus you can manage your club sessions/races/safety directly from any connected device.

Will it run on any device?

The app will run on all android devices.

How much are the scanners?

We give you the first scanner for free. If you need more scanners we can send them to you for £12 each.

I am running a fundraising race for my club, can I use it?

Yes, you can. It’s designed for any race or event of any distance, number of waves, stages, transitions over any time period of your choosing, it's fully flexible. Happy fundraising!
