NEW VENUE: Barefoot & Bower joins the NOWCA network!
We are proud to welcome another affiliated venue to our network of 40+ safe open water locations.
Barefoot & Bower is set deep in an ancient forest, hidden at the foothills of May Hills, Gloucestershire. The lower spring fed lake is open all year round to the community for wild swimming and is over an acre in size, in a completely natural and private setting.
The lake has a jetty and ladder for access, covered changing area, and seats so you can enjoy your cuppa afterwards and have a natter with other swimmers. Parking is located close by and access to the lake is via an uneven footpath which is not suitable for wheelchairs.
There is a Social Swim session every Sunday morning and it’s a great opportunity to meet other like-minded individuals and to be part of the wild swimming community.
And if you want to try something a little different, join their Skinny Dipping sessions on Monday evenings.
Paddleboarding is also available on Calm Waters Lake (upper lake).
