New GDPR Regulations means that we need to make our Privacy policy clear and concise so you can see how we handle your data. In simple terms, this section explains what information we collect from you, what we do with it and who it might be shared with:
What information do we collect from you?
When you register as a NOWCA member, we collect data including name, address, date of birth, email and phone contact details, skill level (for swimmers), medical information and emergency contact details.
Why do we collect this data?
We collect this data to make sure our safety timing system is fully operational. As well as ensuring your personal details are on file in case of any emergency during an activity, we have information instantly available to make contact with your nominated ICE (in case of emergency).
Who might we share your information with?
Your information is shared with our Venue Managers to ensure the safe operation of your event/activity. We ask that each of our Venues manage their own data securely and in line with GDPR best practices. Please see privacy policy for further details. We may need to share your medical information with emergency services in order to assist you in emergency situations.
We do not share your information with any other third-party organisations for marketing purposes.
What do we do with your information?
Your information is stored securely in line with GDPR regulations. (further information is available). We use your information to set up your account and send statistical emails following your activities. From time to time, we may email you with information regarding your chosen activity and with news that we feel will help enhance your experience (you can opt out of any marketing emails at any time by updating your preferences or unsubscribing from an email)
How long do we keep hold of your information?
We will hold onto your data for as long as your account is active.
